Gov't Receives Crucial Intelligence About What Could Happen in Kirinyaga, Issues Stern Warning

The government has been warned of alleged ongoing plans to cause chaos in Kirinyaga county in the coming days using hired goons, the state has said.

This is according to Interior Principal Secretary Karanja Kibicho, who says that his ministry has caught wind of plans to cause chaos during the Mashujaa Celebrations slated for later this month.

Speaking on Friday, he added that his office has established that the plans are being made by politicians from some of the neighbouring counties, who have began mobilising youths for the job.

The politicians, said the powerful PS, are from Nyeri, Murang'a and Embu Counties, adding that his office has already been made aware of their identities and that they are well known people in the country.

"We are getting intelligence on a daily basis that there are people planning to cause mayhem in Kirinyaga. These people are foreigner politicians from other counties like Nyeri, Embu and Murang'a and are arranging the youth to come and cause chaos here," he told the press in Kirinyaga.

He spoke as he issued a stern warning to the alleged culprits, saying that the government will not allow unruliness during the event.

He stated that the people of Kirinyaga won't also entertain chaos in their county, which is a county guided by peace and orderliness.

"We know the people behind this plot and we will not allow foreigners from other counties to bring chaos to our county. As a government we will not entertain such," said the PS.
