Rashid Echesa is a staunch supporter of deputy president William Ruto. He has been seen in several political rallies defending Ruto. Recently, he was seen in a raw video slapping an IEBC agent during Matungu Constituency by by election. His action caused an uproar online that forced director of criminal investigation to order his arrest.
Well, he has come out to claim that the reason why he was arrested was because of his political opponents who are targeting him. Rashid is a vibrant leader who was first identified by orange Democratic party which made him the youth leader in Kakamega county. He then defected to Jubilee party where he vied for Mumias West parliamentary seat in 2017 but lost it to Naicca who defended his seat on ODM ticket.
