Mount Kenya region is one of the vote-rich regions in Kenya. The region enjoys massive registered voters. Various presidential aspirants have been touring the region to popularize their presidential bids ahead of the next general election.
This weekend, three presidential contenders camped in the region to meet local residents and popularize their presidential bids. Former prime minister Raila Odinga toured Nakuru and Laikipia counties, ANC party leader Musalia Mudavadi toured Nakuru county and deputy president William Ruto camped at Meru county.
Today ODM party chief has embarked on meet people tours in the region to popularize his new Azimio La Umoja campaign strategy. He addressed a mega rally at Naromoru in Nyeri county. He promised to support young people from the region.
During his meet people tour in the county, the former prime minister interacted with local traders and did shopping at Chaka market. He bought some vegetables from the local traders at Chaka market in Nyeri county.
The vibrant leader is accompanied by several leaders from the region. They include Nakuru governor Lee Kinyanjui, Laikipia governor Nderitu Muriithi, Nyandarua governor Francis Kimemia, Kiambu governor James Nyoro, MP Babu Owino, Kieni legislator Kanini Kega among other elected leaders.
