David Murathe who is the vice Chairperson of the Ruling Party Jubilee and a close ally to the President has found himself on the Wrong side of the law after failing to appear before the parliamentary Committee assessing the KEMSA Scandal.
The Jubilee Vice Chairperson was allegedly associated with the Kilig Limited that won a tender to supply PPEs to KEMSA.
The Jubilee Vice Chairperson, David Murathe was allegedly awarded a four billion Kenyan See Billings KSH. 4B tender at KEMSA to supply 450000 items.
However, in the Affidavit filed by David Murathe to the Parliamentary Committee earlier, he denied any link with Kilig Company Limited, saying that he has never been a director or a shareholder at Kilig Limited. And that he was only to be a signatory to the Kilig Limited.
David Murathe was to appear today before the Committee but unfortunately, he failed. The committee members said that they were not satisfied with the explanation offered in the Affidavit and therefore summoned Murathe and The two Kilig Limited directors to appear before the committee on 29th April, 2021.
