Deputy President William Ruto's Popularity Is Declining In Mt Kenya Region, New Report States

A report by Mizar Africa shows that the popularity of Deputy President William Ruto is on a downward trajectory.

The report claims that the popularity of the DP has gone down to 58 percent which is lower compared to the statics that was released a few years ago.

Though Ruto’s popularity has declined in the region, he is still the most popular presidential candidate in the region. After Ruto, ODM leader Raila Odinga is the second most popular presidential candidate in the region.

Raila’s popularity has drastically increased to 27 percent. The increase in Raila’s popularity in the region he was previously perceived to be an enemy follows a series of meetings he has been having in the region with various stakeholders including the youth, various politicians, and the business community.

The new poll will be a big worry for DP Ruto who is banking on the Mt Kenya region to help him achieve his quest to lead the country come 2022.

Political analysts have previously noted that DP Ruto needs to replicate the Jubilee victories in Mt Kenya if he needs to win the presidency.

DP Ruto has been thought to be the single biggest beneficiary of the vote-rich region but will the intrusion of Raila with the support of various stakeholders from the region could interfere with his math.
