According to Marijuana Moment, President Joe Biden has formally signed a marijuana research bill into law, creating history by passing the first piece of independent federal cannabis reform legislation in American history.

Many believe that the passage of the Medical Marijuana and Cannabidiol Research Expansion Act marks a change in perceptions of federal cannabis policy. Different reactions have been raised, including concerns and even saying that the research will take much time and even they should not expect this.

The legislation mandates the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) to pinpoint regulations that obstruct cannabis research and make suggestions on how to get around them. Different people commented on the post, and most of them stated that this is the moment they have been waiting for.

While it prohibits scientists from buying cannabis from state-run shops, it also opens the door for research organizations to grow their own cannabis or import cannabis for medical study.
