Speaker Justin Muturi age, education, career and politics

Justin Bedan Njoka Muturi is a Kenyan politician who hails from the Eastern region of the country. JB as he is commonly known, is the current speaker of National Assembly. The tough talking speaker was born on 28th of April the year 1956 in Mbeere, Embu County. He is now sixty four years old.

Justin attended Kangaru Boys High School for his secondary education. Thereafter, he proceeded to join University of Nairobi where he pursued a bachelor's of Laws degree, graduating in the year 1981. He later went to the Kenya school of law for a postgraduate diploma in law after which he became an advocate of the High Court of Kenya having been admitted to the Bar in 1982.

Justin Bedan Njoka Muturi then served as a Principal Magistrate between 1982 and 1997. He retired from the Judicial Service in 1997. He tried his hand in politics in the year 1999. This was in a by-election of Siakago Parliamentary seat following the death of the then incumbent member of parliament Cyrus Ita. Muturi won the by-election. He retained his in the 2002 general elections.

In the 2007 and 2013 general elections, Muturi lost parliamentary elections to Lenny Kivuti and Muruiki Njagagua respectively. Luckily he was elected as the speaker of the National Assembly in 2013, a position he still holds up to now.
