Mumias East Member of Parliament Peter Salasya has today lit up the parliament after he referred to deputy speaker of the National Assembly Gladys Boss Shollei as "Madam Speaker Sir." Salasya was telling the deputy speaker what the people of his constituency had told him to ask for since they have a lot of problems.
This is when he referred to her as sir and the whole house burst into laughter. On realizing what he had just said, the MP said it is the effect of his mother language and he was not ashamed of it. He asked the speaker to facilitate the distribution of electricity in his home as people were behind in development.
During the same session president William Ruto made a surprise visit to the members of parliament and had a great time together. He even shared a meal with them at the Parliament canteen and this excited Kenyans.
