Laikipia county women representative Hon Cate Waruguru while observing on the presentation of retired prime minister Raila Odinga to the people of Mt Kenya as their preferred candidate has explained the one thing that will make him not succeed. Speaking in a rally in in her home county Laikipia, Cate Waruguru has said that if the ODM party leader will be presented to the people of the mountain by the rich tycoons, he will be rejected.
The rich Mt Kenya region tycoons including media mogul Samuel Kamau Macharia have been accompanying Raila in his campaigns and making calls to the mount Kenya dwellers to consider him for the next year's general elections.
Women rep Waruguru has however dismissed the calls by Mt Kenya tycoons saying the only people who will endorse Raila's candidature will the ordinary people from the region.
"When we were struggling in the troubled Laikipia, no tycoon brought us assistance. They will not come and give us a candidate," Waruguru said in a video that was shared by the Standard Digital.
Accordingly, Waruguru has advised Raila to seek the consent of the common Mwananchi who are the actual voters.
