It is still a puzzle and not clear to whom the President Uhuru Kenyatta will declare as his favourite presidential candidate in the next year's general elections. President Uhuru Kenyatta will be finishing his constitutional ten years in office on August 9, 2022.
Unlike what the President had promised his Deputy President to support his presidential bid during the 2017 campaigns, the entry of the ODM party leader Raila Odinga through the famous Handshake drastically changed the tune. Ever since, the President has believed that Raila Odinga is the right person to take Kenya to the next level.
In a recent online opinion poll conducted by the city senior counsel lawyer Ahmednasir Abdullahi on his twitter account he asked, "What will happen to Honorable Raila's 2022 presidential candidature if His Excellency Uhuru withdraws his political support?"
Responding to the post, majority of Kenyans online voted saying that Raila does not necessarily need President Uhuru's support to win in the next year's race.
