Kenyans continue to complain about the increased fuel prices across the country. This came about in the increase on VAT on petrol. Speaker Justin Muturi publicly called on the Members of the National Assembly to initiate debate on increased fuel prices once Parliament proceedings resume on Tuesday.
Ledama Olekina has come out and reminded the Speaker that it's the very same Members of Parliament who raised taxes. He said that it was absolutely absurd for the speaker of the National Assembly to ask MPs to initiate debate on fuel prices yet they are the ones who raised taxes.
"It’s absolutely absurd for the speaker of
@NAssemblyKE to ask MPs to initiate debate on fuel prices yet they are the ones who raised taxes!
@Senate_KE does not participate in passing the finance act!
@citizentvkenya why now during an election year ? #wajingasisi." Tweeted by Narok County Senator Ledama Olekina
