Elections are only 10 months away and already political campaigns though unofficial are ongoing in the country. The major position being competed for is the presidential seat. Already alliances are being formed with the hope of securing a win for the presidential seat.
However, the major opponents for this most wanted seat are the ODM party leader Raila Odinga and the deputy president William Ruto. They are both looking forward to getting support from the Mt. Kenya region which has the highest number of registered voters and the potential of determining the winning candidate. But from history, this may not be so because Mt. Kenya region always produce their candidate.
Things are likely to change in the coming few months before elections. Some alliances are likely to be broken and some political leaders are likely to unite before our very own eyes. Most of all Mt. Kenya is likely to produce and endorse their own candidate to succeed President Uhuru Kenyatta. Mt. Kenya have always had a candidate for presidential race and similarly, they may produce their own candidate and stand with him in solidarity and vote him in as the next president. Some of the potential candidates from the region include Peter Kenneth, Martha Karua, Waiguru, etc.
They may therefore surprise the country by producing their own candidate and campaigning for him with the help of the president Uhuru to succeed him.
