Chebukati Declared His Own Presidential Results, Alleges IEBC Commissioners As They Reject It

The Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission team members are in a war over the announced August 15th presidential elections.

The IEBC chairman Wafula Chebukati led other team members on Monday, August 15th where he announced Dp William Ruto as the winner of the presidential race.

Some of the IEBC commissioners have taken to media platforms alleging that the results were manipulated by the chair of IEBC. They also alleged that they have no ownership of the announced results because they did not take part in the final tallying.

Tuesday, August 16th the commissioners led by Juliana Cherera opposed the results alleging that the figures were not adding up. According to them, the total percentage of votes which generated the presidential results had an error of 0.01 percent translating to 420000 votes.

They also alleged that the results declared by Wafula Chebukati were his results because by the time of declaration some constituencies had not been verified.

"By the time Wafula Chebukati was declaring the results, verification from certain constituencies had not been announced." Cherera was quoted by The Star Kenya. This has erupted division among the IEBC members which were supposed to deliver transparent results. However, Kenyans have been urged to maintain Peace.
