Nyamira county governor Amos Nyaribo has condemned the statement by Amani National Congress (ANC) leader Musalia Mudavadi that he intends to join Deputy President William Ruto.
This comes two days after Mr Mudavadi visited Nyamira and issued a statement saying he could join Dr Ruto.
Mr Nyaribo has said he could not follow anyone in the United Democratic Alliance (UDA) sign that he would reject the post of Deputy Leader offered by the ANC if Mr Mudavadi joins Dr Ruto.

Mr Nyaribo has said he will not accept the post if the ANC joins UDA and Dr Ruto.
"During my visit to Ikonge today where I arrived at the Ikonge PAG church and held a meeting in Ikonge, I reminded our people that we cannot join UDA," he said.
. It is my hope that my ANC party, at the next National Assembly (NDC) Conference on January 23 will make a decision that will benefit our people and our country, ”Nyaribo said on his Facebook page after Mr Mudavadi's visit. He added: "Most importantly, in my mind, it is clear that I cannot join UDA," he said.
