President Uhuru Kenyatta is serving his last term as the president of the Republic of Kenya, and various candidates are lining up for the top seat. Raila Odinga, William Ruto, and Kalonzo Musyoka are some of the leading aspirants. President Uhuru Kenyatta, on various occasions, has expressed his desire to leave the country in safe hands. At one time, he said that he wouldn't hand over power to a thief. People have different ways of interpreting comments, and many Kenyans thought that the president was referring to his Deputy.
Deputy President William Ruto has a lot of support from many parts of the country from the look of things. In the last few months' various leaders have migrated from other political party's and joined Ruto, the latest one being Gathoni Wamuchomba. Many Kenyans have embraced his hustler narrative, and he is currently one of the favorites for the top seat. However, the DP is allegedly not on good terms with President Uhuru Kenyatta and the deep state, for that matter. So, he may win the heart of Kenyans, but the deep states may deny him victory, as has been the case with ODM leader Raila Odinga.
It's high time now the Deputy should start collaborating with the president, the head of the deep state. Otherwise, he is likely to be frustrated in the 2022 elections. What are you thought about the same?
