Big Boost For Raila After Two Heavyweight Mt Kenya Politicians Support His Presidential Bid

Raila Odinga's presidential ambitions received a major boost on Monday after two heavyweight politicians from Mt Kenya publicly backed him for the top seat.

Meru county governor Kiraitu Murungi and his fierce rival CS Peter Munya accompanied Raila during his tour, where they made remarks that seemed to endorse the ODM boss.

"Baba (Raila) is well-known for the fight of the country's second liberation, would you want him to fight for miraa? Do you want Baba to fight for the youth? You people are the real army for Raila," Kiraitu told the charged crowd in the rally's stop-over.

CS Munya reminded locals the sacrifices Raila has taken for democracy to prevail in the country, and urged locals to ensure they vote for the former premier in large numbers come 2022.

Raila has been making numerous trips to Mt Kenya (the latest being one of them) as he tries to drum up support for his Presidential bid.
