Ruto Suffers Another Major Setback After Vocal Governor Denounces Him During Visit To His Backyard

The governor of Marsabit, Mohammud Ali, has criticized Deputy President William Ruto while campaigning in his own neighborhood.

The conversation started on Wednesday, July 6, when the DP asserted that Mohammud was unsure of which presidential candidate, former prime minister Raila Odinga or him, to support.

Ruto continued by saying that he had seen the Marsabit governor secretly backing him and that Azimio la Umoja was not in his heart entirely.

The governor, who is running to keep his position under the Azimio la Umoja banner, retaliated by calling the DP out and saying that his support for Raila was unwavering.

He added that because the Raila-led movement was able to control the county's economy, the ground had shifted and was now in favor of Azimio la Umoja.

"I have made it known that this Marsabit community will back Azimio and support Raila Amollo Odinga's election. I used to be friends with Ruto, but I can see that he will never succeed.

We cannot continue to support him at this time, but this county needs development from the federal government, said Mohammud.
