Man Who Managed To Be A Kenyan President For 6 Hours

Meet the man who was Kenyan President For 6 hours.

Hezekiah Rabala Ochuka, (alias Awour) (July 23, 1953 – July 9, 1987) was a Senior Private in the Kenya Air Force who ruled Kenya for about six hours after preparing and launching a rebellion targeting president Daniel Arap Moi.

Hezekiah Ochuka was the centre of the August 1, 1982 coup attempt, which the then president Daniel Arap Moi escaped in less than a day.

The 29-year-old was a Grade 1 – the second lowest rank in the military. Hezekiah was an unrepentant person who held chairman of a so-called "People's Redemption Council" that aimed to overthrow President Moi.

Hezekiah's combat experience and contacts rendered it achievable for him to form a tactical heist on the Kenyan Government.

Hezekiah was not victorious in his attempt to fully replace his homelands governing party, but he did manage to have management of the overall country of Kenya for six hours.
