The Machakos Senatorial race has taken new twist after the new revelation has emerged that the state is behind Wiper candidate Agnes Kavindu.The Chama Cha Uzalendo Lily Nduku has accused the Wiper for using the local administration in conducting their campaign in Machakos. She claims the goverment is behind the candidature of wiper candidate ahead of March mini-poll.
The Kenya elections is based on the principle of free and fair elections. The Independent and Electoral Boundary Commission must ensure that the elections are transparent and fair.IEBC has been requested by the other candidates to investigate onto the matter so that the outcome of the elections won't be disputed in the courts.
Agnes Kavindu is the former wife to the JonhstoneMuthama who is the chairman of United Democratic Alliance (UDA). The party has its own candidates who will contest with the wiper candidate.
The by election in Machakos is viewed by many as a contest between Kalonzo Musyoka and the former Senator Muthama considering the two recently engaged in a feud that almost resulted to war. Muthama later on warned the wiper leader that he should stop mixing politics with family affairs.
