Nzioka Waita who was President Uhuru’s Chief Staff has said he will take a break from politics. Nzioka who also served as Head of Delivery Unit during Uhuru’s administration says he will take some time out of politics to focus on personal and professional growth.
Waita has taken to his social media handles to tell the people of Machakos that he will be taking a break. Nzioka vied for the gubernatorial seat of Machakos but lost to Wavinya Ndeti. He says he is thankful for the people of Machakos even though he did not win.

“I want to thank the people of Machakos for ignoring propaganda and voting for me in their numbers even though I did not win. I am totally grateful to the people who believed in me. I hope we will work together in future. For now, I want to take a break to focus on personal matters. I wish you a happy 2023,” Nzioka has said.

Nzioka has taken a low profile since he lost to Wavinya Ndeti. He did well in the last elections even though he could not speak fluent Kamba.
