United Democratic Alliance supporters in Nyanza have launched painted Raila's Kisumu turf yellow as they kick start campaigns in support of Deputy President William Ruto's presidential bid. The team under the umbrella of Lakefront for Ruto said they will start active campaigns to popularise Ruto’s policies in the region despite the notion being driven that the region is dominated by ODM.
Led by Kisumu County UDA chairman John Odenyo, they said that they plan to market Deputy President William Ruto first by opening several UDA branches in the seven Sub- Counties within Kisumu County. “We are going to move around the wards and constituencies to entrenched the DP’s support at the grassroots,” Odenyo said.
Odenyo claimed the people of Nyanza have for many years suffered economic marginalization and exclusion in the sharing of national cake because of stiff opposition politics adding that it is high time the Nyanza region should embrace political diversity and explore a new political path.
“Luo Nyanza requires a new political leadership that is on top of the game with eyes on the ball and that which blends with national values and aspirations,” Odenyo said. The Ruto's ally appealed to voters to go for leaders who will ensure the accountable exercise of power and authority taking into account that the people’s interests matter.

Kisumu, Siaya, Migori, Homa Bay, Kisii and Nyamira Countie are one of the Orange Democtratic Movement, ODM considered hot beds with the region's voting overwhelmingly for Raila Odinga. Talking about this Everline Otieno said that they know that a great task ahead of them will big since the region is Raila's.
