PNU Officials Deny The Possibilities Of Having In-house Wrangles

The Party of National Unity (PNU) has denied claims that cabinet Secretary Peter Munya and Laikipia governor Ndiritu Muriithi are feuding.

Prior to the August 9 elections, the two were rumored to be feuding over the party's leadership. Munya was elected PNU leader at the National Delegates Conference in October 2016. A group of officials questioned his election.

John Mwaniki, the deputy governor of Laikipia, has stated that he and governor Muriithi will run for re-election on the PNU platform.

He claims that what has been published in the media is inaccurate, claiming that the current fight is amicable and healthy, and that delegates will elect the party's leader.

Mwaniki went on to say that they had shopped for the PNU as the ideal party to bring Kenyans together.

Mwaniki said "I'd like to clear the air and state unequivocally that Munya and Governor Ndiritu Muriithi have never fought. What you're seeing is a friendly competition that's good for the party. The party organizers have arrived, and they will be the ones who make the final decision".
