The leader of Azimio One Kenya coalition party, Raila Odinga, has revealed the meetings that politicians allied to his presidential campaign held with the four embattled IEBC Commissioners at rented apartments in Nairobi.
The four IEBC commissioners were Juliana Cherera, Irene Masit, Justus Nyang’aya and Francis Wanderi. Who rejected the presidential election results the chairman of IEBC Wafula Chebukati announced on August 15. Stating that the results were not matching and that's where opaqueness existed.
Later the supreme court uphold election, where files were petitioned, challenging their suitability to hold office, and they have since resigned, save for Masit who is facing a tribunal appointed to preside over the petition hearings.
In the week that proceeded, things emerged how the four IEBC commissioners met the top Azimio operatives, including Raphael Tuju and Nick Salat, at Yaya Apartments in Kilimani.
Of which their bill was also paid by one of the members of Azimio party.
In an exclusive interview with Citizen TV, Mr. Odinga defended the visits, saying his team was in protest of the results Chebukati was to announce and wanted to know “the truth” of what was happening.
