[Source/Koigi]Veteran politician and former Subukia MP Koigo Wamwere has finally announced his preferred party days after declaring his Nakuru senatorial bid
In his 2022 New Year's message, Wamwere said he will vie for Nakuru Senate seat but did not state which party he will seek its ticket.
His supporters and followers on Facebook got sharply divided as some told him to join Raila Odinga's ODM while others urged him to go for Deputy President William Ruto-led UDA, which opinion polls shows is the most popular party in the Rift Valley.
Speaking to the Nation on Tuesday, Wamwere said he will vie on ODM and expressed confidence in winning the seat which is currently held by Susan Kihika, who has since announced her gubernatorial bid.
The former Assistant Minister says he is best qualified to the Senator for Nakuru with his many years of political experience and 13 years of political detention fighting for democracy, justice, equality and good governance.
"My goal as a Senator will be to fight for governance without corruption at both county and national levels. I believe elimination of corruption will guarantee equitable distribution of resources to everybody in the country," Wamwere said.
