Photos Of DP Ruto Pushing Wheelbarrows' Elicit Mixed Reactions Online

Deputy President William Samoei Ruto has constantly advocated for helping the youths through helping them create their own jobs and making their own income.

A few hours ago, the DP helped the youths at his home by giving them wheelbarrows and carts to be used as their startup for job creation as he handed women salon pieces of equipment.

''We must change Kenya’s political conversation from power to empowerment and positions to creation of jobs.'' DP Ruto stated.

He continued to state that he will try as much as it will be hard to pull everyone out of poverty.

''As difficult as it may be, as uncomfortable as it may be, we will keep making strides, step by step, day by day, week by week, month by month, engaging our youth, women and other vulnerable groups in gainful activities until we pull everyone out of poverty.'' He posted on his official Twitter account.

After the photos and videos have gone viral, the Sugoi man has been greatly criticized as some have argued that these are just temporary solutions and Kenyans need long-lasting solutions.

Here are a few of the varied reactions.

Felix Okelo, ''Which kind of job creation is this? I see shovels, wheelbarrows, gumboots, and other tools of manual work. Is this sustainable? As deputy president we expect you to help create robust policies that enable the development of suitable business environments.''

Jane Kyalo, ''Seems like we will be using wheelbarrows now as our means of transport... This empowerment is on another level.''

Kevin Munyui, ''How are the lives of the people who received your tokens of appreciation going to change?''

molo, ''To creation of jobs? So what has been the conversation since 2013? 50 50 government sharing positions? and you appointing the other half?''

Ben Kairu, ''What the Hustler nation fails to realize is that this "wheelbarrow empowerment" will create a large pool of bottom feeders and cheap labour for the "dynasties".

Patrick Kyalo, ''WSR, assist to legislate and anchor your ideas in our National and County Job creation policies, so that all those who cannot access your gifts in much-hyped Political rallies can get them.''
