On Monday, a group of opposition leaders from several nations camped out in Nairobi, Kenya, and had a vital meeting without Raila Odinga, the official opposition leader of Kenya.
Two Ugandan opposition figures, Bobi Wine and Kifefe Kizza-Besigye, were present at the conference in Nairobi.
Leaders of the opposition CHADEMA and ACT Wazalendo parties, Freeman Mbowe and Zito Kabwe, respectively, arrived from Tanzania.
This past Tuesday, Zito Kawe acknowledged on social media that he and his colleagues had attended the conference in Nairobi.
"Lovely discussion session in Nairobi last night. It was great to see my colleagues @HEBobiwine Party Leader @NUP Ug Mzee @kizzabesigye1 of FDC Uganda and @Mbowe national chairman of @ChademaTz," he said.
On the other side, Bobi Wine pointed out that the gathering had brought together leaders who support East African independence.
He claims that President Yoweri Museveni is the opponent of their quest for freedom.
The enemy of Uganda and East Africa is #DictatorMuseveni and his enablers. All efforts should focus against the enemy, not against each other. Greetings from this side, he tweeted. "Those who want freedom must be as united and as focused as those who seek to enslave them."
