Deputy President William Ruto was today, 26th November 2021, scheduled to close the ongoing 7th Annual Devolution Conference in Makueni County.

However, the Second in Command has made it known that he won’t attend the function in Makueni County as earlier scheduled.
DP Ruto's communications team communications team, led by David Mugonyi has said the 2022 presidential hopeful won't attend the Devolution Conference because he’ll be in Nyandarua County.
DP Ruto will however send someone whose identity has remained concealed to read his speech for the closing ceremony.
His communications team has described DP Ruto's representative as “a respectable person in society” raising lots of speculations among Kenyans.
The 7th Devolution Conference was officially opened by Former Prime Minister Raila Odinga who was sent by President Uhuru Kenyatta as his representative after he travelled to South Africa, alongside Interior Cabinet Secretary Dr. Fred Matiang'i.
