Governor Waiguru, pushed to the limit by the evolving political landscape in Mount Kenya, finally made up her mind and joined the UDA party, which is linked to Deputy President William Ruto.Waiguru will now run for governor in 2022 on the UDA party ticket, with hopes that he will continue serving her Kirinyaga people.
According to an insider who is intimate to governor Anne Waiguru,the people of Kirinyaga told her they wanted to be associated with DP Ruto which made her join UDA.
The source also revealed that Waiguru will be defending the Kirinyaga gubernatorial seat under UDA party.
Last month, Waiguru signaled her departure from the ruling party to DP Ruto's UDA party.The governor's support for the Jubilee Party has been shaky in recent months.
In the gubernatorial seat, she is set to face Kirinyaga County Woman Representative Purity Ngirici and Narc Kenya party leader Martha Karua.
