National Police Service Commission (NPSC) has confirmed that it has withdrawn the security detail attached to Kakamega Sen. Cleophas Malala.
"Senator Cleophas Malala, you have to appear before us and render your apologies in person. We have decided with the Inspector General of Police Hilary Mutyambai that you will be in your campaign trails without security."
"If you are need of security, you recruit all those youth you purportedly said dropped out of school in Kakamega and assign them your security guards. Our officers should not protect a leader who has no respect for them." NPSC Chairperson Eliud Kinuthia said.
The latest development comes barely few days after Malala while addressing congregants at a Kenya Kwanza rally in Western Kenya on Tuesday said that cops needed not to go to school in order to handle firearms.
Following the remarks which angered most Kenyans, the National Police Service (NPS) chipped in to make sure Senator Cleophas Malala give a response to his sentiments.
