Haiti is a Caribbean country that shares the island of Hispaniola with the Dominican Republic to its east. Though it’s still recovering from a 2010 earthquake, many of Haiti's landmarks dating to the early 19th century remain intact. 
The former president, Jovenel Moïse, was assassinated on 7th July 2021, and his wife was badly injured as she was shot on her elbow, for the first time after the death of her husband, she has finally shared her story, in her speech, she said that the gunmen were looking for something in their bedroom before they assassinated her husband, she went ahead and disclosed her husband's last words, ''That's where I think you will be safe''.
Martine Marie Étienne Moïse is the former First Lady of Haiti and the widow of President Jovenel Moïse. She served as the country's first lady from February 2017 until the assassination of her husband on 7 July 2021. May the soul her husband continue resting in peace.
