President William Ruto set up camp in Homa Bay County earlier today as part of his formal two-day working tour of Raila Odinga's Luo Nyanza political heartland.
Ruto was enthusiastically welcomed by several Nyanza leaders while being accompanied by a number of prominent government figures, including PS Raymond Omollo and Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua, some of whom were absent, such as Peter Kaluma and Otiende Amollo.
And now, MP Amollo claims in a statement on social media that he missed the visit by the head of state because he is away on important business right now. However, he invited the president to his backyard for CS Eliud Owalo's homecoming ceremony.
He emphasized the necessity of leaders cooperating with the government.
"While Away On Official Duties, We Welcome The Visit Of President William Ruto To Asembo and Rarieda for CS Eliud Owalo’s Thanksgiving. As Elected Leaders, We Look Forward To continued Structured and Constructive Engagement With The Executive," he said.
