The outspoken legislator has been accompanying and campaigning for the leader ahead of 2022. Kanini has been fiercely criticizing Deputy President William Ruto who is Raila's main rival in the race to State House.
The MP has now expressed his confidence in Raila's Presidency, affirming that he will definitely succeed President Uhuru and according to him, the leader will preside over 2022 Mashujaa Day Celebrations.
The ODM leader has been going round the country and the Central Region in particular trying to rally the bloc behind him. In his journey dubbed "climbing the Mountain", the leader has received support from a number of powerful politicians from the region including governors and MPs.
President Uhuru has also been skewed towards the leader although he has not publicly endorsed his presidency.
According to a recent poll done by Mizani Africa, Raila's popularity in Mt Kenya region has increased to 27% percent. The DP however dominates the region be with 65% support.
