Shattered Dreams? KKC Confident Breaks Silence Few Hours After Ruto's Key Men Missed Cs List

The list of President William Ruto's prospective Cabinet members was finally released on Tuesday afternoon, and Murang'a eyes quickly skimmed the list to see what Kiharu MP Ndindi Nyoro had landed.

It was more important to know what docket he had won than whether or not he had been selected.

"I glanced at the list three times. Itook off my glasses, thinking they were clouding my eyesight, and rescanned the list. I was not satisfied, so I asked a friend to verify the list for me. We couldn't acquire his name, so we decided it was bogus news, said Edwin Murira, a candidate for the Maragua constituency on August 9 who lost.

However, one of them—who wished to remain anonymous—said, "This is a significant issue and it shall emerge to be so shortly... We are not the least bit amused, but if we wait, perhaps he will appear on the list of Principal Secretaries at the Ministry of Interior.


There were such high hopes for Mr. Nyoro to be appointed to the cabinet that campaigns had already begun in Kiharu, with Charles Karundo already releasing campaign posters and Mr. Karanja Mburu, who trailed Mr. Nyoro in both 2017 and 2022, purportedly attempting to convince Jubilee members to defect to the UDA in order to succeed him.

“My dreams are still valid…it is not over until it is over. Let us wait for the naming of president and Deputy president advisors as well as personal assistants…I have been assured by State House that the government is so big and elastic that as sure as there is a God in Heaven, there will be a by election in Kiharu and you are speaking to the next MP,” Mr Karundo said.
