DP Ruto's Next Move As 2022 Presidential Contest Heads To The Homestretch

The race to succeed President Uhuru Muigai Kenyatta when his term comes to an end in August next year is gathering dust. The two leading presidential contenders remain Deputy President William Samoei Ruto and his longtime political nemesis Hon Raila Amolo Odinga who is the ODM party leader.

With One Kenya Alliance being seen as the third possible force, both Raila and Ruto are keen to woo the outfit to their respective folds.DP Ruto had earlier insisted that he is not going to enter into any coalition talks with other political players terming his UDA party as a National outfit that will encompass and incorporate all Kenyans ahead of 2022.

But in what can be described as a sudden change of heart seemingly because of the nature of the tussle ahead, the DP has openly come out to woo the One Kenya Alliance principals to his political camp.

The country's second in command has studied the political tides and realized that things may turn coarsy in the coming days. The race pitting him against Raila is a tougher one.DP Ruto has observed that with the OKA team backing Raila, the former Prime Minister could show him dust come 2022.

It is due to the above fact and observation that the DP is working round the clock to ensure that he gets even a section of the OKA Chiefs to support him if not all of them.

Will OKA Principals heed to DP Ruto's plea and back him ahead of 2022?
