Kisii Gov. Simba Arati Grants A Municipality Charter To This Town

Thank you again my beloved readers and welcome warmly to my daily news updates.

Simba Arati is the second Governor of Kisii County. He won this gubernatorial seat in the August 9 polls last year and succeeded Governor James Ongwae who had completed his ten years at the helm.

Today Arati has bestowed a municipality charter to Ogembo town. While addressing those who came to see Arati indicated that Ogembo town attained the town council status in 1998 and is the second largest town in Kisii after Kisii municipality.

"The granting of a municipality charter to Ogembo town underscores the true status of the town as a commercial hub on the regional and national map. Ogembo attained the town council status during the defunct local Governments in 1998, and is the second largest urban area in Kisii County, after Kisii Municipality." Arati said.

He went on "As part of my administration’s urban development strategy, we are set to upgrade more urban areas in the county, through improved service delivery and the provision of modern structures and amenities." He lamented.
