The Mt Kenya Foundation elite club consisting of billionaire business people allied to the head of state president Uhuru Kenyatta are set to announce the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) party supremo Raila Odinga as its preferred candidate to become Uhuru's successor in 2022.
Speaking to the Star, National Assembly Deputy Majority Chief Whip Maoka Maore who is a Key legislator in Uhuru's inner circle, revealed that the Mt Kenya Foundation billionaires had settled on the former premier Raila Odinga who will be unveiled tomorrow, Wednesday, 7th December ahead of Azimio la Umoja declaration at Moi International Sports Centre (Kasarani).
The head of state president Uhuru Kenyatta tasked the Mt Kenya Foundation umbrella to deeply interrogate the ODM party leader Raila Odinga and One Kenya Alliance (OKA) chief partners on a possible candidate who can uphold his (Uhuru's) legacy in 2022.
"The president asked us to advise him on what person he can handover the leadership mantle. That is why we were forced to interrogate the two outfits (Raila and OKA principals) in September" Mt Kenya Foundation Vice Chairman Titus Ibu said.
This comes a time when the ODM president Raila Odinga is set to clear the air on the ravaging speculations about his silent bid of succeeds Uhuru Kenyatta in 2022.
Mt Kenya Foundation's announcement serves a huge blow to One Kenya Alliance (OKA) principals and the excluded Hustler Nation's United Democratic Alliance (UDA) party leader William Ruto who are also bigwig forces in the next year's general election.
One Kenya Alliance outfit which shades Amani National Congress (ANC) party leader Musalia Mudavadi, Wiper party boss Kalonzo Musyoka, KANU supremo Gideon Moi, Ford Kenya head Moses Wetangula and UDA leader Cyrus Jirongo are currently spraying Uchumi Bora forays in Taita Taveta county as they seek people's endorsement ahead of 2022 anticipated hot race.
