Just In: President Ruto Makes New Major Appointments in His Government.

The appointment of multiple top administration officials, including principal secretaries, chief executive officers of major parastatals, and cabinet secretaries, is one of the chief responsibilities of the Kenyan Commander in Chief. The president has the authority to terminate employment in any necessary circumstance.

According to emerging reports, Mike Gitonga, a former TV anchor, has been named the new Secretary of State.

According to information provided to the local media by a reliable source, Gitonga, who once served as a spokesperson for the government, will hold the office responsible for administration-related matters. On September 1, Colonel (Ret.) Cyrus Oguna, who had previously held the job, resigned.

As specified in the Constitution, the Secretary of State's office would be responsible for overseeing the preparation of news releases, updating material on the government website, and reviewing public appearances.
