Okiya Omtatah Alleges Reason Why Ruto Is Targeting The 4 IEBC Commissioners

A renowned litigator and the current senator for Busia County, Okiya Omtatah, has launched an attack on President William Ruto and the Kenya Kwanza alliance in regard to the ongoing process in the national assembly regarding the four dissenting commissioners of the IEBC. Omtatah is the current senator for Busia County. The comments that Omtatah made were in reference to the discussion that is currently taking place.

An investigation is being conducted into the activities of four individuals by the Committee on Justice and Legal Affairs of the national assembly. These four people are Vice Chairperson Juliana Cherera, Francis Wanderi, Justus Nyang' aya, and Irene Masit. The committee is conducting an investigation of these particular people.

According to an article that will be published in the edition of People Daily that will be available tomorrow, Omtatah is of the opinion that President William Ruto is aiming his political attacks at the commissioners for the purpose of gaining political advantage in advance of the general elections that will take place in 2027.

He was confused as to why the head of state had taken such a public stance in support of the removal of the four IEBC commissioners when it had been decided by the Supreme Court that the electoral commission as a whole was at fault.
