On Thursday afternoon, while speaking at a campaign gathering in Likoni Mombasa county, Ruto retaliated against the handshake brothers, stating that they had purposefully diverted port operations from Mombasa people to Naivasha and Nairobi, respectively.
Ruto stated that he will explore relocating the port's operations to Mombasa so that coastal residents might profit, and that the two have no plans for Kenyans. Should they take the government in August, he stated, they want to bring back BBI reggae and establish posts for a few people.
"Is that what you want? Those folks are saying they'll come to add positions and bring back BBI reggae. The first item on our list is to figure out how our youngsters will find work. To provide work for these kids, we shall withdraw Ksh100 billion from the government coffers. We've been singing about it for years, but it'll finally happen in August "Ruto remarked.
"When those men took away my work, they also transferred port operations to Naivasha and Nairobi, so that they could enrich themselves and their family. I'll make sure it's reverted to Mombasa since that's not what we committed to when we launched SGR "he stated
"They heard me pledging to restore port operations and came here vowing to do the same. For the last four years, you have led the handshake government. How will you do it after August if you never saw the need to bring port operations back to Mombasa? Please don't play us for fools "Ruto added
