Central of trade Union secretary general papa Francis Atwoli has once again hit the news headline today after he rubbish the claims that the next year general elections cannot be postponed.
Speaking to NTV, The embattled leader of the luhya has said that those Politicians arguing that the Elections cannot be postponed are stupid and should get their facts right. He said that he does not wish for the election to be pushed forward but there are circumstances which would make it possible.
Atwoli said that rather than having then Elections and after that people experiencing the post Elections violence,he told NTV that the building bridges initiative report was meant to stop that as it stood for peace.
"I want to say that those Politicians saying Elections cannot be postponed are stupid and I must call them that. There are several occasions which may lead to the postponement of general elections and people needs to be aware of them," Atwoli said.
"I'm not pushing for that because I'm afraid of it but take for instance if we conduct the election and people end up fighting and killing each other,how would we have helped. BBI was meant to solve all that because it is meant for peace," he added.
Atwoli pushing for the postponement of the Elections is hard as several leaders like Amani National Congress party leader Musalia Mudavadi and deputy president William Ruto have asked the IEBC to stand bold and conduct the Elections in the dates stipulated in the Constitution.
