Leaders drawn from the Rift Valley are currently meeting in Rongai, Kajiado where a lot of issues have been discussed. Among the issues of concern is a story carried out on one of the dailies that President Uhuru Kenyatta is planning to extend his presidential term past August 2022.
The meeting that seeks to understand the circumstances that may lead to this strongly opposed any attempt by the head of state to extend his term because it is unconstitutional and against the law. They claim that their 2022 candidate William Ruto will be in the ballet regardless of whether Jubilee supports his move or not.
The meeting which is still underway resolved into spearheading vigorous campaigns for the deputy president who has been meeting up with other political leaders from other parts of the country in a bid to solidify his 2022 presidential bid. Kindly follow the writer for more updates.
