Prof Kutima Campaigns in Navakholo

Deputy Governor H.E Prof Philip Kutima took his campaigns for the gubernatorial seat to Navakholo Sub-County where residents assured him of their support.

Prof Kutima conducted a harambee for Shiyenga Community Library at Shiyenga Friends Church before addressing his supporters at Navakholo market.

The DG thanked the residents for their warm reception saying that he relied on their support to help him succeed Governor H.E Dr FCPA Wycliffe Oparanya in the next year's General Elections.

He said he honoured an invitation to help raise funds to build the library because the facility will be key to promoting reading culture and alleviating illiteracy.

He noted that the County under the leadership of Governor Dr Oparanya has achieved a lot in terms of development and he would build on the structures he had helped put in place to steer the county to greater heights.

"Governor Dr Oparanya has done extremely well in development that is why Kakamega is ranked as county number one. Most of the programmes we have been doing them together thereby gaining experience that will help me fast truck development," he said.

Addressing his supporters at Navakholo market, Prof Kutima said he had all the qualities to be the second governor adding that those underating him will soon be in for a rude shock.

"I have what it takes to lead the county as a governor. My boss Governor Dr Oparanya has taught me a lot for the many years I have served as his deputy. The county will be in safe hands under my leadership," he said as he appealed for their support.

He said he will give priority to completion of development projects that would not have been completed before Dr Oparanya's exit.

"If you elect a new governor he will abandon all key projects started by Governor Dr Oparanya. I am the only one who will complete them because I was part of the planning process," he added.

He said the County plans to upgrade Navakholo Sub County hospital to Level Four status to effectively provide medical services to patients.

"We plan to put up a modern mortuary and other facilities as part of the requirements before elevating the hospital," he said.

CECM for Roads, Public Works and Energy Mr Kulati Wangia was among leaders who accompanied the Deputy Governor.
