Sad News For Moses Kuria as 53 MPs Sign Motion to Kick Him Out a Day After The Impeachment Threats

A day after a section of leaders from the Azimio La Umoja One Kenya Alliance and Kenya Kwanza Camp from Western and Rift Valley issued threats to kick out Trade, Industry and Investments Cabinet Secretary Moses Kuria out of office for maize importation, at least 53 MPs have since signed the impeachment motion.

The MPs led by Pokot South MP David Pkosing said that the impeachment will be pegged on whether or not the CS reverses his move to import maize whether GMO or organic.

Pkosing who is leading the push is expected to collect at least 233 signatures which is two thirds of the National Assembly.

As reported by KTN News on Wednesday, Pkosing said that the support of his move to kick out Kuria from office has been received with an overwhelming support from MPs both in the KKA side and the opposition,

This comes even as Kuria who is out of the country alongside President William Ruto for an official state visit in South Korea maintained that he will not relent in his push to ensure that no Kenyan dies of hunger, telling off his critics for politicizing the decision.

The lawmakers opposing the import of maize said that it was ridiculous for the government to import the produce when farmers from their counties were harvesting maize.
