The vice chairperson of independent electoral and boundaries commission Juliana Cherera has resigned from office.
In a statement on Monday, cherera said that her stay in office is no longer tenable due to the current situation.
"It is with immense woe that today I tender my resignation as commissioner and vice chairperson of the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC)" read part of the statement.
she further explained how she has dispensed her duties with due diligence and a spirited effort in a bit to help the commission to deal with corporate governance Issues.
According to Cherera, her actions were misjudged which led to her bring labeled as rebellious towards the current chairman Wafula chebukati.
She went on to thank president William Ruto for the time she has had to serve in the polls agency.
Her resignation Comes a week after another commissioner Justus Nyangaya called it quits after the president suspended the four before creating a tribunal to investigate them over to professional misconduct.
The resignation has elicited mixed reactions from netizens with some condemning the treatment of the commissioners.
