While military operations continue in the DRC Congo, President Ruto has requested other EAC member nations to help. Even though they are members of the EACC, nations like Tanzania and Uganda have made it plain that they would not send troops to the Democratic Republic of the Congo.

President Ruto has stated that the government of the Democratic Republic of the Congo is responsible for the peace process there. The president of Kenya has stated that the peace process in DRC Congo is essential.

The president wants the M23 rebels to surrender because they are breaking the law by fighting. Since stability in DRC Congo is essential to the prosperity of East Africa, optimism is high for the country's future.
