Kirinyaga County governor Anne Waiguru has been the subject of hot political discussion in the last few days after hinting about her plans to dump the ruling Jubilee Party and join an unnamed party in the run up to the 2022 general election.
Today, a viral clip of her has been trending on social media where Waiguru left little doubt on what she is planning ahead of the 2022 general elections. Addressing a clearly excited crowd, Waiguru asked the residents on the party they want her to use in the polls.
The crowd chanted UDA party in response leaving her with no choice but to inform them that she will heed to their advice and run on the United Democratic Alliance (UDA) party.
And now, deputy president William Ruto's camp has finally come out to break its silence over the latest development where Waiguru has clearly hinted at joining UDA.
According to Linturi, UDA party is expanding very fast and any politician who wants to get a smooth ride with the electorate should be party of the fast growing party. He promised Waiguru of fairness during the nomination for the UDA party ticket.
