Sakaja, Ntutu And Anyang Nyong'o Summoned To MPs Over Audit Queries As Details Emerge

As it is constitutional after every election and before the new government is formed, the elected members are always subjected to audits by the parliament. This demands each leader to account for his wealth amongst other investments amounting to his/her financial status.

According to the source, Nation Africa, on Monday, 14th of November, the Parliament has summoned three governors over the audited accounts of their various investments and special funds, which have not been considered since the advent of devolution in 2013.

The Senate Committee on County Public Investments and Special Funds (CPISFC) wants governors Johnson Sakaja (Nairobi), Patrick ole Ntutu (Narok) and Prof Anyang’ Nyong’o (Kisumu) to appear before it separately from Tuesday next week to explain the various audit issues raised by the Office of the Auditor-General for three financial years.

It has reported that the three governors will be required to respond to the audit issues raised in the reports of the Auditor-General for the financial years 2018/19, 2019/20 and 2020/21.

Order of appearance before the committee is as follows, Governor Ntutu will be the first one to appear on Tuesday next week, then Governor Sakaja follows on Wednesday and lastly Hon Anyang Nyong'o on Thursday.
