After Keeping His Supporters in The Dark Governor Kahiga backs ODM leader

Mutahi Kahiga the governor of Nyeri is the recent Mount Kenya governor to support ODM leader Raila Odinga's 2022 goal , after months of keeping his followers unknowing on who he would be uniting with next year.

The governor who has stayed away from two likely winners(Raila and Ruto) will be hosting the former prime minister on the important event.

Mutahi Kahiga has been one of the main organizers of the Azimio La Umoja Nyeri tour besides from joining Mr Odinga's camp on Saturday.

Other governors from Mount Kenya West supporting Raila for the top seat besides Kahiga are Laikipia's Mdiritu Murithi, James Nyoro (Kiambu), Francis Kimemia (Nyandarua) and Nakuru Lee Kinyanjui.

Kikuyu and Luo elders are currently in Nyeri for a one-of-a-kind event , not witnessed in recent years.

Over two thousand elders from the two communities are expected to lead a reconciliation ceremony between the Luos and Kikuyu, which will finalize into supporting Raila Odinga to take over from President Uhuru Kenyatta next year.

Wachira Maina the chairman of ODM in Nyeri county confirmed that Raila would be accompanied by a group of elders from the Luo Council who would be hosted by their equivalent from Kikuyu Council, while also revealing the event will also be the clearest indication that Mount Kenya was supporting the former prime minister.

"The first meeting will involve six hundred elders inferred from two formation Kikuyu Council of Elders and the Kiama and another six hundred elders from the Luo Council of Elders. These are not campaigns , as our leader Raila has not confirmed his goal for the presidency but we hope as soon as he confirms we shall support him as we are safe in his hands , this country is safe, " Wachira said yesterday.
