John Cardinal Njue and different pastors attempted to accommodate President Uhuru Kenyatta and Deputy President William Ruto last year yet fizzled, the Star has learnt.
Different sources near the President and the DP said National Assembly Speaker Justin Muturi started the primary endeavor in January last year after relations between the two weakened.
"Muturi met with Cardinal Njue for quite a long time where he informed him on the extending crack between the two leaders. His demand was that since the Cardinal partook in a decent connection with the two, no one but he could assist with bringing the two chiefs back together, a source mindful of the work said."
Njue is accounted for to have acknowledged the solicitation and assembled a couple of different ministers who met the two chiefs independently.
"The gathering didn't yield a lot and in April last year, Cardinal Njue told Muturi that he had fizzled. On Thursday, the Cardinal didn't verify or refute reports of his compromise endeavors, saying he was unable to recollect a lot.
"I don't recollect the subtleties. It has been quite a while since I left the initiative of the Catholic Conference of Bishops. They are better positioned to respond to your inquiry," Njue told the Star.
