The deputy president Dr William Ruto has set himself up to be one of the top presidential contenders in the upcoming general election. The second in command is today in Makueni county selling to potential supporters his political ambitions and the bottom up economic apprach.
During the meet the Makueni people tour, DP Ruto pointed out that at the moment, his UDA affiliated party is the most popular party in the country with over 150 members of parliament drawn from across the nation. He equally took the chance to ask the residents to shun the ethnic politics.
In bid to woo the young voters, the deputy president outlined his government's plans on uplifting the lives of the common citizens. He said that he intents to set aside sh. 100B for the empowerment of the youths organized saccos and other small and medium enterprises.
Dp Ruto additionally faulted the ODM party chief Hon Raila's move of diverting president Uhuru's government through the much publicized handshake. He subsequently assured Makueni locals of a more focused leadership which will prioritize the needs of Kenyans instead of the discussion on the political ranks.
The deputy president gave out over three million shillings to the organized hustlers groups.
